Punxy Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting Juvenile in Porter Township

PORTER TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A Punxsutawney man was arrested on Thursday for reportedly sexually assaulting a juvenile approximately two years ago in Porter Township.

Punxsutawney-based State Police filed criminal charges against 33-year-old Jonathan A. Miller, of Punxsutawney, in District Judge Jacqueline Mizerock’s office on Wednesday, April 17, 2024:

– Corruption of Minors – Defendant Age 18 or Above, Felony 3
– Unlawful Contact With Minor – Sexual Offenses, Felony 3
– Indecent Assault Person Less Than 13 Years of Age, Misdemeanor 1 (two counts)
– Endangering Welfare of Children – Parent/Guardian/Other Commits Offense, Misdemeanor 1

According to a criminal complaint, on April 13, 2024, the parents of a known juvenile victim reported to police that their daughter was sexually assaulted by Jonathan Miller approximately two years ago at a residence on Hamilton Porter Road, in Punxsutawney, Porter Township, Jefferson County.

It was reported that Miller committed sexual acts on the child victim. Miller told the victim to never tell anyone what he did, according to the complaint.

In an interview with police, Miller reportedly admitted to touching the victim, and he described the incident, stating that it happened three or four years ago, the complaint continues.

Miller was arraigned at 12:26 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2024, in front of District Judge Gregory Bazylak.

He was released on $50,000.00 unsecured bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 2, at 10:30 a.m. with Judge Mizerock presiding.
