Ronald James McElhinny, 72, of Brookville, PA, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024, while at his home.
Ron was born on August 14, 1951, to the late Thomas Paul and Margaret Theresa (Petras) McElhinny in Brookville, PA.
He graduated from Brookville Area School District with the Class of 1969.
Following high school, he went on to receive his master’s degree in chemistry and biology from Clarion College.
He was a member of the Allegheny County Trout Unlimited and Heath Station Sportsman’s Club.
He was also Catholic by faith.
Ron was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying flyfishing and hunting.
He also loved to tinker around his yard and with cars.
He was a humble man who enjoyed watching all types of sports, especially the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers.
Ron is survived by one brother: Francis (Marge) McElhinny; three nieces: Jody (Steve) Buterbaugh, Lisa (Bob) Simpson, and Jill (Frank) Catanzaro; and 10 great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ron is preceded in passing by one brother: Thomas Paul McElhinny Jr.
Following Ron’s wishes, there will be no public services being held at this time.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
