State Police Calls: DUI, Criminal Mischief Incidents

JEFFERSON/CLEARFIELD CO., Pa. (EYT) – DuBois-based State Police responded to the following calls:

DUI in Sandy Township

Around 12:30 a.m. on October 18, Punxsutawney-based State Police initiated a traffic stop on a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt on U.S. 322 near Kiwanis Trail in Sandy Township, Clearfield County, for a lighting violation.

Police say upon making contact with the driver, identified as a 27-year-old Greensburg man, a moderate odor of alcohol and a faint odor of burnt marijuana were noticed from the vehicle, and troopers also observed visual indicators of suspected drug-related impairment.

The driver was then asked to exit the vehicle for field sobriety testing.

According to police, the driver was subsequently placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI.

Police say a probable cause search of the vehicle then found drug paraphernalia under the passenger seat, which a male passenger, identified as another 27-year-old Greensburg man, allegedly claimed responsibility for. He was also placed under arrest for possession of drug paraphernalia.

The investigation is ongoing.

Criminal Mischief Involving Corsica Man in Clarion Township

Around 8:00 a.m. on October 13, Clarion-based State Police responded to a location on U.S. 322 in Clarion Township to investigate a report of criminal mischief involving a known 62-year-old male victim from Corsica.

Police say an investigation was conducted, but no further details are available.

Criminal Mischief Involving Brookville Man in Clarion Township

Clarion-based State Police are investigating an incident of criminal mischief that occurred around 12:55 a.m. on October 16 at a location on South 5th Avenue in Clarion Township.

The incident involved an estimated $200.00 in damage to a window belonging to a known 34-year-old Clarion woman.

According to police, a known 26-year-old Brookville man was arrested in relation to the incident. The man’s name was not released.

The investigation is ongoing.
