Two Individuals Airlifted After Side-by-Side Crashes into Tree in Warsaw Township

WARSAW TWP., Pa. (EYT) – An operator and his passenger were airlifted from the scene of a crash early Sunday morning in Warsaw Township.

According to DuBois-based State Police, the incident occurred in the early hours of April 21, 2024, when 44-year-old Travis Michael Johnson, of Pittsburgh, was driving a 2020 CAN-AM Maverick side-by-side on a dirt road at 1071 Gilbert Road, Warsaw Township, Jefferson County.

Trooper Jason Perry, of DuBois-based State Police, reported that Johnson lost control of the vehicle while navigating a curve, causing the vehicle to veer off the road and strike a tree.

Both Johnson and his 28-year-old female passenger suffered injuries in the crash.

Emergency services were called to the scene, and both individuals were airlifted to Penn Highlands DuBois for medical treatment.

Details surrounding the cause of the accident are still under investigation as authorities work to determine the factors that led to the mishap.
