Unopposed Candidates for Representative in Congress for the 15th District Secure Primary Victories

BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — Running unopposed in their party’s primary elections, Democrat Zach Womer and Republican Glenn “GT” Thompson have secured their spots in the general election.

Thompson received 5,262 votes on the Republican ballot. Womer received 1,484 on the Democrat side.

Thompson has represented Pennsylvania’s Fifteenth District in the U.S. House of Representatives since 2019. Before that, he represented the Fifth District for ten years. He serves as the Republican leader of the House Agriculture Committee and as a senior member of the House Education and Labor Committee.

Womer is a 12th-generation central Pennsylvanian. A graduate of Denison University. He is currently a law student at Pennsylvania State Law. Womer opposes NAFTA, supports social assistance programs such as SNAP, WIC, and TANF, and says he stands “in solidarity with all workers in their fight to be employed with dignity, respect, and adequate pay.”

The Fifteenth Congressional District includes Armstrong, Cameron, Centre, Clearfield, Clarion, Clinton, Elk, Forest, Indiana, Jefferson, Lycoming, McKean, Potter, Snyder, Tioga, Union, Venango, and Warren Counties.
