Woman Behind Bars for Allegedly Selling Meth to Undercover Officer in Pine Creek Township

PINE CREEK TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A local woman is in jail for allegedly selling methamphetamine to an undercover officer in Pine Creek Township.

Court documents show the Jefferson County District Attorney’s office filed criminal charges against 46-year-old Shannon L. Breth, of Falls Creek, in District Judge Gregory Bazylak’s office on April 4, 2024.

According to a recently released criminal complaint, on October 23, 2023, an undercover officer (UC) with the Jefferson County Drug Task Force had been exchanging text messages with Shannon Breth regarding the delivery of approximately a half ounce of methamphetamine the following day (October 24).

The delivery arrangements were made by Breth to deliver the meth to the undercover in exchange for $300.00, the complaint states.

On October 24, Breth exchanged several more text messages with the UC regarding the time and location for the delivery. According to the UC, a time was set to meet on Fuller Road (State Route 1830) in Pine Creek Township, Jefferson County, the complaint indicates.

After receiving the above-mentioned information, Master Patrolman (MP) Ryan Miller, of the Punxsutawney Borough Police Department, responded to the area and took on a position of surveillance in the area. The UC was observed parked in a gravel parking lot. A white vehicle then entered the gravel lot and approached the UC’s vehicle. The white vehicle parked near the front of the UC’s car before a white female, who was subsequently positively identified as Breth, exited the passenger side of the white vehicle, approached the UC’s vehicle, and entered the front passenger seat. Breth and the UC “exchanged pleasantries” before Breth reportedly produced a black-and-white striped makeup bag and handed it to the UC. The UC opened the makeup bag and observed it containing a plastic zip-lock type baggie appearing to contain crystal methamphetamine, according to the complaint.

The UC then removed the plastic baggie and placed it on a digital scale. The contents of the baggie registered a weight of 15+ grams. The UC then handed $300.00 in pre-recorded official JCDTF funds to Breth, who then placed the money into the makeup bag and exited the UC’s vehicle. She then got back into the white vehicle and left the area, the complaint notes.

Breth was arrested and arraigned on the following charges at 9:55 a.m. on April 9, in front of Judge Bazylak:

– Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony
– Criminal Use Of Communication Facility, Felony 3
– Deliver/Intent To Deliver Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor
– Intentional Possession Controlled Substance By Person Not Registered, Misdemeanor

Unable to post $30,000.00 monetary bail, she was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is slated for Wednesday, April 24, at 10:15 a.m. with Judge Bazylak presiding.
